Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government
of India, and Mr. Matrika Prasad Yadav, Minister for Industry, Commerce
and Supply, Government of Nepal, held a bilateral meeting to discuss
strengthening of energy and economic ties between the two countries. Both
ministers agreed to explore potential pipelines for LPG and LNG to supply fertilizer plants and industries in Nepal.

The Government of India signed an agreement to build two liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals in Colombo, Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Government of Japan. These were approved by the Government of Sri Lanka, along with an LNG project by the People's Republic of China. In total, the three LNG power plants will generate up to 1,400 megawatts.
