Air Travel Bubble between Bhutan and India

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Bhutan announced an Air Travel Bubble Arrangement with the Government of India. The arrangement makes flight operations possible between the two neighboring countries until normal operations of international flights resume.

BIMSTEC Foreign Ministers Approve $50 Billion Worth of Connectivity Projects

Foreign Ministers of BIMSTEC member countries approved in principle around 167 projects to improve connectivity in the region. The projects, detailed in a study by the Asian Development Bank, are worth an estimated $50 billion. It includes transportation and cross-border facilitation, multimodal transport and logistics, infrastructure development, aviation, maritime transport, human resources development, communication linkages, and networking in the region.

SAARC CCI's Colombo Declaration Proposes Boosting South Asian Air Links

The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) proposed direct flight operations among capitals and commercial cities of South Asia in its 'Colombo Declaration on Tourism' presented by SAARC CCI Secretary General Muhammad Iqbal Tabish to SAARC Secretary General Arjun Thapa. The statement underscored the immediate need to improve air, sea and road links among the SAARC member states to deepen economic cooperation in South Asia.
