World Trade Report 2017: Trade, Technology, and Jobs Economic growth over the last 25 years has been accompanied by unprecedented economic change. Over the past two decades, many countries have experienced significant transformations in the sectoral and occupational structure of employment. This report examines how technology and trade affect employment and wages and analyzes the challenges for workers and firms in adjusting to changes in labor markets. It looks at how governments could increase the positive impact of open trade and technological trade in South Asia and around the world. The World Bank Logistics Performance Indicators 2.0 (LPI 2.0) Connecting to Compete 2025 lays out the Logistics Performance Indicators 2.0 (LPI 2.0), a redesign of the World Bank's index. The new indicators draw on large-scale tracking data from maritime, aviation, and postal operators, which comprise 80% of global goods trade, providing standardized and comparable measures of supply chain connectivity, speed, and reliability across countries over time. In Bangladesh, GDP is forecast to grow at 3.7% in FY2026 and 4.5% in FY2027. In Bhutan, GDP is forecast at 6.5% in FY2026 and 7.2% in FY2027. India’s GDP is projected at 6.6% in FY2026 and 7.3% in FY2027. Growth in Maldives is forecast at 1.0% in FY2026 before rising to 3.0% in FY2027. Nepal’s GDP is forecast at 3.9% in FY2026 and 4.5% in FY2027. Sri Lanka’s GDP is projected at 4.0% in FY2026 and FY2027. Inflation in South Asia is projected at 5.7% in FY2026 and will ease to 4.8% in FY2027. In Southeast Asia, Growth in Myanmar is forecast at 2.4% in FY2026 and 2.7% in FY2027.
