Paperless Trade to Enhance Bangladesh’s Competitiveness

A Validation Workshop assessed the impact of paperless trade facilitation in Bangladesh, including the costs of helping government and private sector agencies transition to a paperless system; and long-term costs needed to maintain the system effectively. Paperless trade will enhance Bangladesh's competitiveness in the global trade regime by reducing time and cost of trading across the border, and ensuring accountability and transparency.

India Files Proposal for Trade Deal on Services

India filed a draft Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) on Services at the World Trade Organization (WTO) on 23 February 2017. The proposal aims to increase transparency, reduce costs and facilitate cross-border flows of services. India is looking to push the proposal at the WTO Ministerial Meeting in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in December.
