Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, conducted an official visit to India on 2-4 January 2025, following the recent State Visit of Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu in October 2024. During bilateral discussions with Dr. S. Dr. Jaishankar reaffirmed India's commitment to its ties with Maldives under the 'Neighborhood First' policy and Security and Growth for All in the Region (SAGAR) Vision. Dr. Khaleel expressed appreciation for India's timely emergency financial assistance to Maldives.
