Tripura Rail Gets Boost with Services to Kolkata via Bangladesh

Railway service between Agartala and Kolkata, India, through Bangladesh is set to begin and expand rail connectivity in Tripura, India, according to Mr. Manik Saha, chief minister of Tripura.

The trial run for the Agartala, India, and Gangasagar, Bangladesh, rail service to connect Agartala and Kolkata via Bangladesh was recently completed. There are currently 18 express and local trains providing services in Tripura. Mr. Saha announced that plans are underway to upgrade facilities at the Agartala station to transform it into a world-class railway station.
