Passenger Trains to Start Service Between Haldibari and Chilahati

Passenger train services between India and Bangladesh is set to begin soon through the Haldibari-Chilahati border route. This was announced by Mr. Toufique Hasan, Bangladesh’s Deputy High Commissioner in Kolkata, on 9 September 2020.

Mr. Hasan was visiting the Haldibari railway station with Mr. Md Samsul Arif, business chief of the High Commission, and Mr. Jabedul Alam, manager of Siliguri Sonali Bank.

The passenger train service will help tourism and business in Bangladesh and India. Haldibari in Cooch Behar district, India, is 4.5 kilometers from the India-Bangladesh international border.
