As recommended by the Committee on Economic Cooperation and the Heads of SAARC Statistical Organizations the 38th Session of the Standing Committee (Thimphu 6-7 February 2011) mandated the SAARC Secretariat to conduct a study for the development of a web-based user-protected interface and the institution of a designated Statistics Cell.
