The Government of India hosted the virtual SASEC Nodal Officials' Meeting on 20 June 2022. Mr. Rajat Kumar Mishra, Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance of the Government of India, chaired the meeting. Mr. Kenichi Yokoyama, Director General, South Asia Department, Asian Development Bank (ADB), co-chaired the meeting. Mr. Thiam Hee Ng, Director, Regional Cooperation and Operations Coordination Division, South Asia Department, ADB, moderated the meeting.

The SASEC Nodal Officials' Meeting endorsed strengthening of the SASEC institutional mechanisms, strategic reorientation of the SASEC Vision, and proposed new initiatives under the SASEC Program.

Meeting participants included senior officials from relevant ministries and agencies of SASEC member countries, as well as representatives from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), New Development Bank (NDB), and the World Bank.
