19-20 Jun 2019

Sri Lanka Customs and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) organized a two-day workshop to finalize the action plan for the initial implementation of a post-clearance audit (PCA) system in Sri Lanka. The Workshop was held on 19-20 June 2019 in Colombo, attended by officials from Sri Lanka Customs and facilitated by ADB staff and consultant.

The Workshop agreed on actionable items to ensure the initial implementation of PCA in Sri Lanka by September 2019. This includes preparation of audit plan, finalization of the standard operating procedures, and conduct of training courses for auditors who will be implementing the PCA.

In her opening address, Mrs. P.S.M. Charles, Director General of Sri Lanka Customs, reiterated Sri Lanka’s commitment toward implementing trade facilitation measures aligned with international standards.

This Workshop is conducted under the ADB-supported technical assistance for Implementing Trade Facilitation Initiatives under the South Asia Subregional Economic Cooperation Program.
