Bhutan, Nepal Prime Ministers Agree to Expand People-to-people and Trade Relations

Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli met on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Both Prime Ministers agreed to expand people-to-people and trade relations and highlighted advancing collaborations in bilateral and multilateral forums. 
Nepal Prime Minister Tobgay highlighted the cordial relations between Bhutan and Nepal, and cited Lumbini, Nepal, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, as a significant factor. He acknowledged Nepal's role as the Chair of the Global Coordination Bureau of the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) supported by the UN through the Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States.  

Nepal Prime Minister Oli pledged to provide necessary facilitation for the development of people-to-people and trade relations between Bhutan and Nepal.
