Bangladesh: Supporting the SASEC Integrated Trade Facilitation Sector Development Program

The transaction technical assistance (TA) will support the implementation of the policy-based component of the sector development program and help strengthen the capacity of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to execute the reform measures covered in the policy conditions. The reforms are in line with the priority areas of Bangladesh’s Customs Modernization Strategic Action Plan and the efforts of the NBR to implement the WTO TFA. The transaction TA will help execute policy actions that speed up clearance of international cargo, improve customs compliance, enhance coordination among cross-border border agencies, strengthen border and customs infrastructure, and lead to better administration of customs laws and regulations.
