Second India-Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Motor Rally Held

The second India-Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Motor Rally successfully completed a journey from Guwahati, India to Bangkok, Thailand on 3 December 2017.

Organized by the Kalinga Motor Sports Club, in collaboration with Mahindra Adventure, the rally was flagged off from Guwahati with 50 participants in 20 SUV vehicles on 25 November 2017, and proceeded toward Myanmar, passing through Kalay, Bagan, Mandalay, Yangon and Mawlamyine. The rally then crossed the border to Mae Sot, Thailand on 2 December 2017, and reached Bangkok on 3 December 2017 via Sukhothai.

The Embassies of Myanmar and Thailand in India, and the Indian Embassies in Myanmar and Thailand facilitated the event, with support from India's Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Ministry of External Affairs and Land Customs Department, and the Government of India. Mr. Tharadol Thongruang, Minister Counselor (Commercial), Thailand, flagged off the rally from the border town of Moreh. Facilitation was conducted at the Land Border Crossing on the Indian side of the Moreh Tamu border.
