India Improving Relations with SAARC States

30 July 2016

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving high priority to strengthening relations with South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) member countries, according to J.P. Singh, Deputy High Commissioner, India. India is taking steps to facilitate trade, such as the liberalization of the country’s visa regime. Further reducing visa processing time to 45 days would greatly benefit the business community.

Mr. Singh said that Prime Minister Modi has prioritized improving trade relations with SAARC states and is taking all possible measures in this regard. Mr. Singh was speaking at a meeting on 29 July 2016 in Lahore, Pakistan, with business leaders from the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
