Exporters from India and Sri Lanka Sign MoU to Deepen Cooperation and Promote Trade Growth

20 August 2025

The Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) and the National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen economic cooperation and boost bilateral trade. The MoU, signed virtually in August 2025, establishes a framework for creating stronger networking opportunities for exporters, promoting joint participation in trade fairs, exhibitions, and buyer-seller meetings, and facilitating the exchange of trade delegations and market intelligence. The partnership also includes capacity-building programs and sector-specific collaborations designed to enhance exporter competitiveness in both countries.

Dr. Ajay Sahai, FIEO Director General and CEO, remarked that the MoU is a strategic step to increase trade volumes, open new business avenues, and reinforce the historic economic relationship between the two countries. It leverages each other's strengths, to support the expansion of bilateral trade and investment, improve market access, and support long-term growth. The collaboration reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to strengthen their export communities and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of India-Sri Lanka economic ties.
