ADB Launches Country Partnership Strategy 2024-2028 for Bhutan

13 September 2024

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) launched on 13 September 2024 a new country partnership strategy (CPS) for Bhutan to help the country address economic obstacles and enabling inclusive, sustainable, resilient, and job-creating growth.

The partnership strategy covering 2024 to 2028 will strengthen public sector management, enable private sector development, and build climate adaptive and resilient infrastructure in support of the Bhutan government’s development programs. The strategy also supports human capital development for Bhutan’s youth.

Bhutan graduated from its of least-developed country status in December 2023 and continues its progress in reducing poverty and improving its health and education systems. ADB, through the new CPS, will support Bhutan’s shift toward climate change and disaster risk reduction and mitigation and regional cooperation and integration.
