India Agrees to Add 100 MW to Nepal's Electricity Import

The Government of India has agreed to sell an additional 100 megawatt of electricity to Nepal, according to news by My Republica. India gave the nod to provide Nepal with added electricity through the 400-kilovolt transmission line linking Dhalkebar (Nepal) to Muzaffarpur (India) at the recent India-Nepal Joint Standing Technical Committee meeting. Nepal already imports 250 MW of electricity from India through this transmission line. The new provision increases Nepal’s allowable electricity import from India to up to 800 MW of electricity.
