The Government of India plans to implement a National Logistics policy to help bring down the logistics cost by 10%, according to Mr. Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Railways of the Government of India in the recently-held Asia Pacific Trade Facilitation Forum 2019. The policy aims to promote seamless movement of goods across the country and reduce transaction cost of traders. It also envisages providing end-to-end logistics solutions to companies through a central portal.

The proposed policy was sent by the Ministry of Commerce to the Cabinet in September 2019 for approval, according to a report.
