Government officials from SASEC countries participated in a virtual workshop on 12 May 2026 to review the approach paper for the SASEC Tourism Development Framework 2035. The workshop was organized by the SASEC Secretariat, with support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The framework is envisioned as a key building block for advancing tourism within SASEC economic corridor development. 

Building on the outcomes of the SASEC Tourism Knowledge Workshop held in November 2025 in Kathmandu, Nepal, the SASEC Secretariat presented a draft framework anchored on four operational areas: sustainable destinations and circuits, seamless cross-border travel, community development and inclusivity, and digital integration. Participants shared feedback and country perspectives, which will inform the finalization of the framework.
