Advancing Trusted Trader Programs in SASEC

The National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN) of the Government of India, with support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), held the Advancing Trusted Trader Programs in (South Asia Subregional Economic Cooperation (SASEC) on 8–10 December 2025, in Bengaluru, India.
The meeting discussed how to advance from Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program implementation to Mutual Recognition Arrangements and promote collaboration for trade facilitation and security.
Participants shared country experiences and discussed India's best practices. The meeting also presented benefits of AEO through the perspective of AEO-certified businesses.
The workshop was attended by customs officials from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, and private-sector representatives, as well as staff and consultants from ADB.
