The South Asia Subregional Economic Cooperation Transport Working Group (SASEC TWG) meeting was held on 1-3 December 2025 in Kathmandu, Nepal.

The meeting focused on topics aimed at advancing regional cooperation in transport and discussed the endorsement of the SASEC Strategy 2035 for Transport Operational Priority (SST 2035). The meeting also reviewed and endorsed the Action Plan for SASEC Initiatives (APSI) 2025-2027, with plans for updating it for 2026-2028. Additionally, participants presented knowledge works to support regional cooperation in the transport sector and engaged in discussions about future prospects.

Mr. Bhimarjun Adhikari, joint secretary, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Government of Nepal, chaired the meeting. Mr. Dong-Kyu Lee, director of the Transport Sector Office, Asian Development Bank (ADB), and Mr. Thiam Hee Ng, head of the Regional Cooperation and Integration at ADB, cochaired the meeting. The meeting was moderated by the SASEC secretariat.

Transport and other government officials from SASEC countries—Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, and Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, and Sri Lanka—attended the meeting, as well as staff and consultants from the ADB.
