Bangladesh-India Land Port at Dawki, Meghalaya Inaugurated

The 10th land port between Bangladesh and India at Dawki, Meghalaya, India, was inaugurated on 4 May 2023 by Mr. Nityanand Rai, Minister of State for Home Affairs of the Government of India. The Dawki land port is around 84 kilometers away from Shillong, India. On the Bangladesh side, it faces Tamabil, Sylhet.

In his inaugural address, Mr. Rai remarked that the land port will boost trade and facilitate easier travel between the two countries, further strengthening their bonds of friendship and opening up many new opportunities.

The port houses various facilities, including passenger and cargo terminal buildings, warehouse, canteen, toilet blocks for export drivers, and sewage treatment plant.
