Bangladesh to Build Power Plant in India

2 February 2018

Bangladesh will build a power plant in India under the Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Company. The Bangladesh Power Development Board and India’s National Power Company will jointly operate the power plant, which will export electricity to Bangladesh.

A joint Bangladesh-India working committee was formed to oversee the project and will choose between building a solar or coal-based power plant. The power plant will be built close to the border to make it easier to export electricity to Bangladesh.
