Sri Lanka President Dissanayake Urges Maldives Investors to Consider Trade and Tourism

Sri Lanka-Maldives Business Forum was held on 30 July 2025 at the JEN Maldives Malé hotel in Malé, Maldives. Sri Lanka President Anura Kumara Dissanayake addressed the event, urging Maldives investors to consider opportunities in Sri Lanka’s tourism, trade, and information and communications technology (ICT) sectors.

President Dissanayake, in his speech, noted how international cooperation was key to Sri Lanka’s recovery from economic crisis, helping lay the foundation for sustained growth.

The event, organized by the Sri Lanka High Commission in the Maldives and the Sri Lanka-Maldives Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, sought to strengthen economic connections between the Sri Lanka and Maldives.
